Experience: the luxury of times

The history of Hotel Principe began in 1959 when Giancarlo Dotto, a 27-year-old entrepreneur, persuaded his mother Corinna to invest part of the family’s savings – which came from running a small hotel in Treviso’s historical centre - in the purchase of a plot of land on the seafront in Bibione. At that time the Dotto family spent ten million liras to buy 2.000 square metres of land.

In 1960 Mr Sartori, an engineer from Treviso, was commissioned to project and build a 7-storey hotel with 70/80 rooms.

On 9th June1963 Brothers Giancarlo and Ferdinando Dotto opened Hotel Principe, a three-star hotel on the seafront. At that time full board accommodation cost Lit.2000 per day.

In 1969 a clay court was added to the hotel. In a few years of activity and commitment, always pursuing top quality in hotel hospitality, Hotel Principe became a four star hotel, the only one in Bibione in 1980!

In 1985 a swimming pool, measuring Mt 25x 15, was built in the private beach on the seafront and some time later a smaller one, measuring Mt. 6x6, was added for the joy of the younger guests. For 40 years the Dotto Brothers have never ceased to pamper their guests giving them their best care and reserving nice surprises and novelty to them.

During these years Hotel Principe has lodged also illustrious customers, but all the guests at this exclusive hotel are treated like princes. This is the peculiar characteristic that makes Hotel Principe the home for the elite, attracting a refined Italian and international clientele.

Since 2000 Elisabetta and Piero, Giancarlo’s children, have been running the hotel with their uncle Ferdinando. Hopefully Maria Vittoria, Giancarlo’s granddaughter, or Giorgio, Ferdinando’s grandson, will become the third generation of these hotel managers!
